Reverse adoption, as an adult

I was molested by adopted step-father. I want to annul the

adoption and all that goes with ''adoption''. Family is out of my life but I need to distance myself by name even.

What do I need to do? I'm 52 yrs. old.

Re: Reverse adoption, as an adult

I don't know that there is a procedure to reverse an adoption within current Ohio law. As a practical matter, reversing an adoption would be akin to reversing a birth. You can apply for a name change through your local probate court. The name change would also be reflected on your birth certificate pursuant to an order of the probate court.

I am sorry for the things you have had to endure in your life. Hopefully this response will give your some direction for a new beginning.
