Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Separation and house/kids rights
My wife and I are living apart (separated) after 12 years of marriage. We have two kids and I've agreed to live away from our house - staying with friends. I don't see the kids at least 50% of the time each week. So, I was--name removed--if there's any law or any ''time going by clause'' that would make me forfeit my rights as a parent or a homeowner by agreeing to live away from my house? I'm not sure if we'll get back together or get legally separated. And I'm not sure if we'll be in this temporary state for 6 months or a year or longer.

Re: Separation and house/kids rights
I'm writing on behalf of Attorney Edward DiCato. Upon checking his messages for him as he's regretfully in the hospital at this time. He'll be sure to respond to you as soon as possible once he's released from the hospital. Thank you for your patience.
Re: Separation and house/kids rights
At this time of a separation, 50% more or less of parenting time is not a condition for forfeiting shared parenting time or even a marital asset.
