Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Re: shared parenting
I have a shared parenting plan and my children change houses every week. My child wants to try out for a sporting team, for which I am opposed. His father is encouraging my son to ignore my wishes. My question is, if my son is at my house the night of tryouts for this team then don't i have the right to tell him no? I do not feel that it is my son's best interest to be on this team. Thank You.

Re: Re: shared parenting
That is true that you could refuse to take him to the tryouts, but you should look a little further. If your son wants to be on a sports team and it is a violent sport with the risk of harm to your son such as football or wrestling, and it is age appropriate for him, you should let your son learn the hard way. Your son will be extremely angry with you and your son will try it and maybe learn that he does not like the sport.
Sheltering your son is OK, but somthering him is not.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!
