Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

My sister was served with divorce papers a few months ago, over the weekend she was in a horrible accident and her neck was broken. Now her husband wants to put everything on hold because he knows says that she will be able to sue and get some money. My sister doesn't trust him to make decisions on her behalf since he has already filed for divorce, can my sister give me power of attorney over her affairs, even though she is still married but going through a divorce?

I am sorry to hear about your sister's circumstances. I do not practice domestic relations law or estate law; therefore, I am not going to be able to answer your specific question. I do practice personal injury law, and I would be glad to discuss with you and/or your sister the potential legal rights arising from the motor vehicle collision in which your sister was involved. My initial consultations are free.
