Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

sole custody

I would like to know what grounds are needed to file for sole custody and how hard is it to obtain?I'm single mother of two and the father does not pay support or see his children.please help

Ohio law, effective January 1, 1998, makes "an unmarried female who gives birth to a child...the sole residential parent and legal custodian of the child until a court of competent jurisdiction issues an order designating another person as the residential parent and legal custodian..."
