Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
I want to see my son
My father's son and I have never drawn up custody papers. We have always had a good enough relationship to determine visitations on our own. We decided that our son would live with his father and I would have him every other weekend and would see him upon agreement between the two of us. However, my son's father and I have recently been arguing and he is now holding our son against me. He refuses to let me see him or even speak to him on the phone. At my son's school, his father's name is on all of the papers, so I can't even see him at school. Despite the fact that we do not have legal papers, do I have any rights here? Is there anything I can do to see my son or force my son's father to allow me to see or even speak to him? Also, because of this event, I have decided it is time to draw up legal papers. Can I hold this situation against my son's father in a custody hearing? Please help! I just want to see my son!

Yes, you can petition the court to file a shared parenting plan with the court.
