Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
My spouse has shared parenting with her X and she is the residential parent. We would like to move from the current city we are in, 40 minutes away to my new house and better school district. We talked to a local lawyer who said that she my lose her parential rights or we will be forced to stay where we are because her X says we are disruping his childerns life by moving. Is this the case? She does not want to lose her status, but I am also concerned about the future of the two childern we have together.

It's a possibility. The move could be considered a change in circumstances which would be grounds to reevalutate shared parenting, visitiation, etc. Ultimately, what is in your spouse's childrens' best interests should play a large part. Unfortunately, if you want to move than you'll have to go back to court and take the risk. Moving with or without the child and without going to court first is not a good idea because if the ex files than you have unclean hands by not complying with prior court orders and agreements.
