Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

state of ohio custody issue

The state of Ohio assumed custody of my granddaughter because opiates were present in her blood when she was born.My son is the father(he assumes);however, the mother is still legally married to another man(no legal separation either).Do I have any legal rights pertaining to the child(temp custody, visitation, etc) and do I need to retain an attorney? Thank you.

Re: state of ohio custody issue

At one time, not to long ago, grandparents had some visitation rights with respect to their grandchildren in Ohio. That is no longer the case. Your son has rights, if he wishes to persue them. That would be a lawsuit for paternity. If you are intrested, I do a lot of domestic law, feel free to contact me. Best regards Edward DiCato
