Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

supervised parenting time and legal representation

My grandaughter's biological father is seeking parenting time with her. Prior to this hearing he was investigated for alleged sexual contact with her, (she is 2) aLthough nothing was proven and the prosecutor tossed it. My daughter (the child's mother) was not able to secure legal representation, due to unavailability of legal aid and has been unable to otherwise obtain an attorney thus far, ....so main question is what are the odds the parenting time will be supervised? I am worried sick.

Re: supervised parenting time and legal representation

With or without an attorney, she needs to explain to the court at the hearing that the child should have supervised visitation. The court should approve the supervisor. If she doesn't have evidence--even the evidence from the case that was dismissed--are there witnesses? If this does not work, she should try again later when legal aid can secure an attorney for her.
