Ex wants support amended
Ex was making $250,000 when
divorced...he owns a mercedes,
porche, a truck and a little car. He is
behind in support and has been
ordered by the court to pay $600/
month until back debt is paid. Can
this judgment be amended? He is
self employed and now that we have
been divorced for 3 years he wants
to have his support amended.
Saying he is not able to make any
money.

Re: Ex wants support amended
He can ask for whatever he wants, but voluntary underemployment is no reason for his child support to be reduced. Unfortunately, the court has no jurisdiction to tell him to sell off assets, unless the arrears are converted to a lump sum judgment. That can only be done after the child turns 18, and finishes high school.
