Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Taking children out of state to live

My husband and I are divorcing. I would like to move from Ohio to a warmer state. Do I have any rights to take the children with me? Do they have to remain in Ohio? I know he will fight me for custody. If I win can I move them to another state? I'm scard and I am alone, the closest family in more than 400 miles aaway. I need to know what my rights are. Can you please help me?

Thank you.

Re: Taking children out of state to live

Moving shouldn't be a problem but it sounds like there are a bunch of intervening issues, like custody for instance. It sounds like you need an attorney. If you have trouble finding one, I can perhaps do a search myself for some names depending on where you live. Also has the divorce been filed? If so, are there any temporary orders regarding the children? This could make a difference. One reason you need an attorney is to best advise you on what you should do right now. (Move or stay put for example)
