Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

temporary custody of minor children

I was asked to take temp custody of 2 minor children, so she (the mother) can get some mental help. What do I need to do so I can do what I need to do with these 2 children as needed ie; medical, schooling, etc. I am not the children biological parent or relative of them either. This is a friends daughter, no one in the immediate family wants or can take care of them and I have been willing for a while now, what can we do (Myself and the custodial parent)

Re: temporary custody of minor children

The proper motion needs to be filed in either Juvenile or Domestic Court (depends on facts not given). Then a consentual transfer of custody can take place by Court Order. It is a fairly simple process when there is consent by the custodial parent(s). Best regards, edward DiCato
