Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Unborn Baby and Unmarried parents
My ex girlfriend and I are expecting a
baby in May/June of 2007. She has
gotten a restraining order against me
for some stupid reasons and I am just
wondering if there is any laws in Ohio
that state that I have a right to know
what is happening with the pregnancy
and that I can be in the delivery room? I
really need help wit this. Her and her
mother will not give me information on
anything, they will not give me the
expected delivery date or anything. Is
there any law I can use to keep in
contact with her to find out updated
info on my baby? I cannot go near her
or call her right now but I would like to
know info on the due date,if I can be in
the delivery room,etc.Thanks for the
help!

Re: Unborn Baby and Unmarried parents
You haqve no rights of any kind regarding the child until the child is actually born, and your paternity is conclusively admitted or established. Your attorney may be able to get information for you, but I would be prepared to file a paternity and visitation motion as soon as the child is born.
