Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Uncomfortable with current representation

Pending divorce, going to trial, no assets, simply a matter of support amount. Angry spouse, trying to get all she can from me. My atty seems to be laying down on many things, including temp support (leaving me with $25.57 per pay out of $1276 per pay) and they have been granted continuances for things I think my atty should be taking a stand against. Is this normal? Would I be jumping from the pan into the fire if I retain new atty? Current trial date is June 21, 2007. Divorce was filed last July, 2006. We have no assets whatsoever, she is simply angry and while I believe my support will drop at trial, that is many paydays away. I have nothing to live on. My atty won't return my calls. I am paid up. Can I get food stamps to subsist on? Please help! thank you

Re: Uncomfortable with current representation

I suggest to make a call to a local attorney who comes recommended from a person you trust that won't charge for a phone consultation and run your situation by that person. You may be right.
