Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
visitation
My daughter is 8 and she hates going to her dad's for the weekend. Is there a age when she can decide whether to go or not?

Re: visitation
Normally a Court would not let a child of those tender years make the rules. A safe age is about 13-14 to voice a preference. However, if nothing is in front of a court at this time, you might try to compromise and change the visits around. Maybe a couple of early evenings if feasible. I will assume she wants to play with her friends where she lives on weekends when she is out of school, no?. She may need some tpye of counseling (your choice) to help with explaning the reasons for visitation so she will know both her mother and her father. Without more specifics, it is difficult to gauge the effect the visit has on her, if any.
