Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Visitation Rights
My questions involves the criteria on the rights of the parents to take their children where ever it pleases them when they have visitation. Do the non cutodial parent have to request permission to visit the children and to take them anywhere? As in, if they have them for the weekend, what is the criteria to be followed? IE: advance notification, destinations involved, etc. Does the non-custodial or the custodial parent have the right to remove the child(ren) more than a specific distance away, without notifiying and recieving written permission from the other parent? Is there a website that I can go to... that has this all spelled out? Thank you

Re: Visitation Rights
The key concept is reasonableness. If the noncustodial parent wants to take the child away for the weekend, they may do so, but the custodial parent should have an emergency number to reach the child. Generally the custodial parent can not object to the noncustodial parent taking the child away unless the activity is harmful to the child or illegal such as going skydiving or doing drugs with your child.
Follow the visitation schedule established in your order and apply your own reasonableness to the visitation and there should be few problems.
Good luck!!!
