Do you have the 12 week period per family or per family member?

The Family and Medical Leave Act provides for a total of 12 weeks per 12-month period. For example, if you used 6 weeks because of your own serious medical condition (assuming it is covered by the FMLA), you would still have 6 weeks available to you for the remainder of the 12-month period (e.g., if necessary to care a family member with a serious medical condition).
