Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio
Car ownership
I have a car that I have owned for awhile. My license was suspended, so I was unable to drive it. My live in girlfriend was without a car, so we decided to let her use the car for awhile until I was able to get my license back. The title was put into her name so we could renew the plates on the car and it was given as a gift. We eventually broke up and now she is refusing to give the car back to me. She originally signed the title to give it back as a gift, then when we broke up she reported the title as 'stolen' and got a new one so I was unable to place the car back in my name. We had an oral agreement that the use of the car was temporary. Do I have any legal action here to get my car back? Thank you.

Re: Car ownership
It would be a matter of proving your agreement. For instance, do you have the title she reported stolen? Did anyone know about your agreement besides the two of you? A written contract is not mandatory, but you still need to prove your oral contract.
