Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio
Collecting money owed with no proof
An ex live in borrowed money,I have no proof other then they admit the act. Person owned a small business, but put it someone elses name. Person has no job and owes several people money. I supported this person totally for three years and gave money to that business. I had close to $150,000 when they moved in, now I am in $50,000 in debt and working with a debt service. As soon as person knew I could no longer support person, they moved out and took up with someone else who could. Person has made no attempt to repay money. I have asked for payments each week with no luck.

Re: Collecting money owed with no proof
You definitely have an opportunity to get something if you litigate this.....IF, this person is ultimately collectible. Your task really is to find an attorney in your area who is wiling to take that chance. Your first task might be to check out this person's collectibility, and then convince an attorney of the same.
You can be compensated for loans despite the lack of a contract.

Dear Trusting Soul, You have a good case, don't sit on it! Find an Attorney willing to undertake your case and pursue the rascal, who may be charged with a criminal act of conversion, among other claims. Retain counsel ASAP. But first, prepare a detailed chronology of facts and events so you don't forget important details, dates and events. Good luck. J. Norman Stark, Cleveland, Ohio.
