Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

Take ex to court for stolen money

Is it possible to win a court case against my ex boyfriend of five years. It became aware to me in Feb '00 that he is a compulsive gambler. I left him in May '00 due to constant financial hardship. Over the course of 5 years I had unknowingly given him approx. $12,000 for his habit. I thought the money was going to house payments, credit cards, etc. In early may he extracted $2,000 out of my account that I needed for school. That money came from a loan, that I have to pay back, and I still can't go to school. There is much more to the story. But as of now, I am about $7,000 in debt because of him. I am a student and can not pay my bills.

Re: Take ex to court for stolen money

you can sue him civilly if you can show that he did not have permission to have the funds. Further you may be able to prosecute him for the stolen funds. Talk to the local prosecutor.
