Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

Can an oral agreement hold up in a court of law ? My Dad is suing me for over 9000.00 for a business he claims I agreeed to . My name isn't on any of the paperwork or reciepts of this so called business . I'm a single dad of two and money is tight . I can't afford an attorney .

Most oral contracts are enforceable, but not all agreements qualify as contracts. Whether this particular agreement -- which you conspicuously don't deny making -- is an enforceable contract will depend upon the facts.
