Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

reposession of car

I signed for an ex girlfriend for a car loan. She was underage so the loan is in my name. The car got reposessed. Since being over the age of eighteen she has agreed to pay me for the balance of the car and has not. I have proof of this in text messages. Could I take her to court for the balance of the loan?

Re: reposession of car

Yes. If it is only a few thousand dollars, you can try small claims court. You won't need a lawyer for that. Otherwise, you will need to get a lawyer to file a suit for you. I think you would be able to assemble enough evidence to prove your case. If you are in or around Summit County, and decide you need a lawyer, feel free to contact me for a quote.
