Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio
stolen items by mom when kicked out
I am 18 years old. I recently got kicked out of my mom's house and was given only about 10 min to pack up my stuff. Due to the limited amount of time, I did end up forgetting a few important items. Since I had moved, my mom has refused to give me my driver's license, social security card, one of my prescriptions, a few of my college books, and many of my clothes unless I move back home. I need these items, and their return to me is very important. She also refuses to give my iPod(which I purchased) and my laptop (which was a graduation gift) back to me. In addition, my boyfriend and I have a family plan on our cell phones. My mother took my phone that is on my boyfriend's plan, and she refuses to give this back as well. Finally, since my mom is a banker, she opened an account in my name (but I think she is a cosigner). I know I might not be able to get this money back, but she took 1700 dollars from my account to put in hers once I moved out. My mom contributed none of the money, and everything that was in there was from my student loan money for use on school books and my income from my job. I was saving up to pay for a car, and she only left me with around 32 dollars. I am just wondering what I can do.
