Re: B1/B2 to H4

I apologize for the delay in responding. Your wife is not guaranteed a B1/B2 entry visa, but she is almost guaranteed an H-4 entry visa. She may obtain either at the U.S. consulate. If she obtains an H-4 at the U.S. consulate, then her B2 entry visa is cancelled. Your wife may use an H-4 to go back and forth between the U.S. and India. An H-4 will give her less trouble at the border and she may stay as long as she wishes. Your wife could enter the U.S. on a B-2 and then change to H-4 in order to stay longer without cancelling her B-2 entry visa. However, once the U.S. consulate puts an H-4 entry visa into her passport, the B-2 entry visa is cancelled.
