Legal Question in Immigration Law in Ohio
Dual Citizenship
Hi, I want to know after I marry an American citizen, and me as a Canadian citizen, how long would I have to be a green card holder before I can apply for dual citizenship? I also want to know what procedures have to be met to go about dual citizenship and does Canada and US recognize dual citizenship?

Re: Dual Citizenship
The U.S. does not recognize dual citizenship. I believe Canada does recognize dual citizenship. You have to have continuous residence in the U.S. for 5 years before applying. The BSCIS website has a handbook on becoming a U.S. citizen. I can help you, as well. Good luck.
