Legal Question in Immigration Law in Ohio
EB-3 filing process
I am a trained Montessori teacher and would like to move to Ohio through an EB-3 visa (Skilled or Professional Workers). I am Canadian. I hold no degrees, but have a few years of experience in my field.
I am currently speaking with a school that would like to hire me. I am clear on the application process itself (issue of a labor certification, followed by I-140).
My future employer needs to know how long it will be until I can legally work for them. Will it be possible to start by August 03 if the process is started now? If not, how can I speed the procedure up? Do I need an immigration lawyer? Would I be allowed to volunteer at the school until my work permit goes through?
Thanks for your help!

Re: EB-3 filing process
In my opinion, it would be virtually impossible to have work authorization by August '03. Yes, you need a lawyer. You definitely need to at least speak with a lawyer.
