Legal Question in Immigration Law in Ohio
Expired Permanent Residence
A friend of mine had conditional lawful permanent residence that expired back in 2004, and due to a form error the application to remove the conditional status wasn't turned in on time. He is married to a legal U.S. citizen and has a child eith her. What form should be turned in to either renew the conditional permanent residence or remove the conditional aspect of the residence? He is worried about turning in any forms at this point due to the risk of denial of the form and deportation. What steps should be taken to get the status renewed without getting deported?

Re: Expired Permanent Residence
In my opinion, the longer your friend waits, the more difficult his situation becomes. What was the error on your friend's initial application? I recommend working with an attorney on this matter.
