Legal Question in Immigration Law in Ohio

green card

One of my relatives has become a permanent resident this May. It means they're now green card holders. If there is any chance I can apply for my green card through them?

We would need to know more details, for example, what is your relationship to your relative (mother, father, etc.), when and how did you come to the country, have you ever been the beneficiary of an application submitted to Immigration on your behalf, etc. Feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss further.

Re: green card

Hi,

The answer is that it depends on what the family relationship is between you and your relative. Permanent residents may petition for their spouses and their children. Depending on the age of the children and their marital status, there may be a long wait for a visa to become available. Only spouses, parents and children of citizens are eligible for an immediately available visas.

Consult with an immigration attorney and fully discuss your immigration status as well as your family's status.
