Legal Question in Immigration Law in Ohio
Summer job under H1B visa
Hi,
My name is--name removed--and I'm a Ph.D. graduate, now teaching at a university A. I would like to work (teach) for another university B during the summer. My question for you: do I need to get another H1B visa through the university B or there is an exception for the summer job. If so, when I want to go back to work in the university A, do I need to apply for H1B visa again or I don't need that. If I need to apply for visa again, will it cost me whatevere it cost me at the beginning or it will cost much less.
I would greatly appreciate it if you can provide me some info regarding this matter.
Regards,

Re: Summer job under H1B visa
You can hold 2 H-1B visas at the same time. University B can sponosr you for an H-1B visa without cancelling your H-1B visa for University A. So during the summer you will take a leave of absence at University A to work at University B. University B must pay you prevailing wage for your job position.

Re: Summer job under H1B visa
You will need a 2nd H-1 since the visa is company specific. However, you do not have to abandon the first (you may keep multiple H-1s). Please call my office if you would like to discuss costs or if you have further questions.
