My husband has traffic violations. Are these considered crimes that he needs to list on his application for naturalization?

Re: traffic violations

The new N-400 form which is required for any naturalization application filed after 1/1/02 does not exclude traffic violations as the old applications did in asking about crimes and offenses committed. Therefore, I would err on the side of caution and list traffic violations. Make sure your husband has the proof that he paid for his tickets. Scofflaws are persons of bad moral character for naturalization purposes, especially if this occurred during the 3 or 5 year period required for demonstrating good moral character.
