My boyfriend and I have been talking about him coming to visit for a week in December. However he is a political refugee so what do we need to do in order for him to be able to visit

This depends upon the county where he is currently residing, his birth country, and his legal status. The rules change from country to country. It is not possible for me to be more specific.
