Legal Question in Insurance Law in Ohio

Baseball damage

My son threw a baseball and it hit a windshield. The car that was damage was parked in a ball field, my son was not part of the ball game but was playing catch with a friend. My son admitted to the damage and after discussions with the owner it was left as a comprehensive. The next morning the other party called me and wanted retribution, I stated that I would pay thier deductable if they would put it thru thier comprehensive insuarance, this was not acceptable an they wish full compensation of $400.00. Thier lawyer have since contacted me by letter stating same. Where do I stand in this matter. Parking at a ball field is risky bussiness to begin with.

Re: Baseball damage

Demand two estimates, and demand that you be allowed to have an estimate done yourself. It won't be worth your time, or theirs, to sue over this. Offer to settle for half. Otherwise, tell the attorney you'll pay their deductible and if they don't accept that, they can file suit.
