Legal Question in Insurance Law in Ohio
Hello,
I have a question about car insurance. Last july my boyfriend took off he now lives with his girlfriend. I had him on my policy but when he left and my policy was up for renewal I took him off. He does not drive my car and does not have avalid license. He was driving his girlfriends car and had an accident. Is it my responsibility to still have kept him on my insurance? The insurance company won't take his name off the insurance card but he is not listed on the declaration page. Would it be her responsibility since she was letting him drive her car? He does face jailtime and the judge keeps giving him continuances. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

The insurance policy declaration page is the "official" word on who and what is covered. The card is just a convenience. You have no responsibility that I can determine from your questions to keep him on any policy, nor is it the responsibility of his current girlfriend. She might have coverage if he was driving with her permission, but that should not affect your policy. As to the judge's grant of continuances, I can't give an opinion.
