Legal Question in Insurance Law in Ohio
lapsed insurance card presented
gave insurance card on scene of accident it was lapsed. can i be jailed over this? or what course of action can be taken against me.

It is not likely that you will be jailed over it. If you did not have insurance at the time of the stop, the BMV will be notified by the court and you will receive a letter from the BMV stating that your license has been suspended for failure of proof of insurance. Usually a 90 day suspension and reinstatement fee. There is a possibility that it will never get to that. Caontact me to talk about this further, 2 1 6 , 2 2 7, - 0900.
