Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Ohio

teen pregnancy

I have a (just turned)16yr. old who is 6mos. pregnant by a 20yr. old. She is also currently on probation for running away. My dilemma is she is adament about keeping this baby where as I have been encouraging adoption. Do I have no rights as a parent? I'm just suppossed to take on this responsibility of another child when I adamently do not want to? Where are the parents rights?

Re: teen pregnancy

If you were to refuse to help her care for the child after he/she is born, then she would have to do so on her own. If she couldn't, then Child Protective services would step in and take temporary custody. If she continued to be unable to care for the child, the agency would be forced to seek permanent custody (adoption) or place the child in long term foster care.
