Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio
2 questions: 1 - am I legally owed vacation pay earned in the state of Ohio when I am fired?
2 - if I am fired and given 2 reasons for the firing, and one of them is patently false, and defames my character, can I sue my ex-employer? Can this effect my severance pay?

If you are an at-will employee, the company is not obligated to give you vacation or severance pay. Further, the employer need not give you ANY reason for dismissal. An untrue reason (not opinion) if spoken to a non-privileged third-party could support a claim for defamation but only if you can prove that the falsity caused you some sort of damage such as precluding you from getting another job.
