can an employeer discharge a person for a recently introduced policy,even if the employee was up front and forward about felonies on his record

If you are an at-will employee, that is, not union, no contract, you can be terminated for no reason at all. Therefore, even if you were upfront about felonies your employer can discharge you without impunity. I am sorry I could not be more encouraging.
