Am I entitled to my vacation pay?

I notified local mgr. and sent e-mail to H.R. in Wisconsin of my retirement- that I wanted to work till 3-30-07 and then take my 5 weeks vacation pay to make my last day with the company eff. 5-3-07. I recd an e-mail stating that the policy was being re-written over the holidays but should be okay- if anything changed I would be informed. Return to work in Jan 07 and did a follow up to make sure and was advised NO I would only recd 1 week of pay if I worked thru March 07. Neither the office mgr or I was notified of any changes. We found this out from other departments. I turned in my retirement to be effect 1-26-07 and left the company with no vacation pay out. DO I have grounds to go back on the company?

Your vacation pay is either a contract right or past practice matter but in either event you should pursue for weeks entitled by cotract in existence when election was made.
