Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio
escrow withheld
The freight company I formerlly worked for with holds escrow money from employees (max. $1000.per employee) to cover any damages to their vehicles that we may incur during our employment. many times the employee does NOT get that money back when they leave the company even though they follow all the guidelines for leaving their employment. can they legally do this? and do they have to deduct this from said employees W2 income for that year.

Re: escrow withheld
If It Is the Usual Practice within the Industry then the escrow is ok but the employee should get it back if no damage upon separation.
