Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio
mid-year termination
My salary is based on X dollars per year, and is paid bi-weekly. I originally worked in the Florida main office (12 years), but 4 years ago I moved to Ohio and telecommuted, visiting the main office several times per year. This arrangement worked very well for the consultant-type work I was doing for the company. The company recently had a major financial setback, will shortly be out of the consulting facet of its business, and I am looking at the possibility of termination prior to my anniversary date. Is my employer obligated or required to pay the remainder of what my salary would be up to my anniversary date?
A follow-up question: If my employer says move back to Florida or no job, what are my options?
