Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio
Newly classified as hourly
My company has changed my status to hourly non-exempt and they followed that up with a letter stating as much but one point bothers me. One of the explanations about the change states ''you will need to get prior approval from your manager before working over 40 hours per week''. We are a call center and we have a window of work from 8-5 plus we are told that we do not drop a call after 5pm just because of the 40hr weekly requirment. If I sign this form does that mean that I now give up my right to overtime if they don't approve the over 40 hours worked?
