Non compete agreement
My husband was forced to sign a non compete agreement with his company. He has worked there for 20 years. He has been offered a job with a competitor of his present company. How can he get out of the agreement without being taken to court? He is Native American. Would that make him exempt from it? He works from our home in Minnesota but his company is based in Ohio. Thank you for your help.

I would need to review agreement and consult with him regarding the circumstances of his signing the agreement. They may be enforceable in certain limited situations, but if it was signed "midstream" ( after his employment began) additional requirements are imposed for the agreement to be upheld.
