Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio

non compete

Can a non compete clause be expunged, or reduced in an unemployment hearing, in Ohio? My ex husband and I owned a business and it was sold as part of the divorce. The new owner had a 3 state coverage no compete clause placed in the sale contract, with the intent to stop my ex from putting up a store to compete. I had to sign the contract as part owner. The new owner hired me to basically start up and run the new business. After 1 1/2 years he let me go, and is denying me unemployment. I have someone that wants to hire me, to basically do the same type of work, 25 miles away from where I was employed from, but wont because of this clause. Can this be settled in the hearing?
