Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio
Non-competance lawsuit by employer
Question Text: My X-employer filled a lawsuit against
me for taking his client and for not
giving 30 days notice. (I gave 2 weeks
notice.)
The case is on trial by May 14th in
columbus, OH court since my employer is
from Columbus OH.
* I have signed a contract with them.
* But they breached the contract first
by not paying me the salary when I was
in bench.
Now my X-employer is asking $2000 to
signoff from the case. I have already
spent $1500 for lawyer expenses and
my $2100 salary is still pending from
them.
Should I pay them $2000 and close it off
or fight against them?
My arguments are
* X-employer breached the contract by not paying my salary.
* Mistreatment by them.
* I signed my contract when I was in India.
* And I never been an employee of their client. I was only a contractor.
Please advice me on this.
