Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio
I am a nurse at a nursing home and we used to have manditory meetings that we got paid overtime for,they have now gone to do the training or in service on line. We are required to do this on our own time and do not get paid for it. They are also giving occurences on your attendance record if not done within time limit. Is this legal?

It sounds like you are a non-exempt employee. This means, among other things, that you must be paid for all the time you work, and then overtime for any hours over 40/week. If you are being required to spend time to train for your job you must be paid for it. Your employer appears to be violating both federal and state law. It might be time to speak to a plaintiff's employment lawyer.
