Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio

payroll deduction for accident

My employer wants to be riembursed from my payroll for an accident that occurred while I was operating a company vehicle. The outside mirror was broken, and the total for the parts for repair are in excess of $200. Also, it has been to my attention that a property owners garage door was damaged on a property that I had worked on, and the company I work for is expecting to withhold the amount (unknown?) for repairs from me as well.

It is of interest that upon beginning my employment, my immediate supervisor(branch manager) was advised that my vision was to be considered in my operation of company vehicles and equipment, as I am completely blind in my left eye, and lack some bit of deph perception.

Thank you for your consideration!

The policy of paying for damage is not uncommon, However you put the company on notice of your disability. In short you were set up to fail.
