Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio
I have received a letter of right to sue from EEOC How much can I sue for and do I need to retain an attorney?
1 Answer from Attorneys
You should retain an attorney. Your attorney can tell you how much you can, or at least what kinds of things you can sue for. Trying to navigate the very complex area of employment discrimination law by yourself can lead to you losing on a technicality and never being able to bring your claim again. An attorney is trained to avoid these technicalities and attempt to resolve the issue for you both in court and outside of court. Find an attorney in your area ASAP. Your right to sue letter entitles you to sue for a short time frame, after that, you may lose your rights forever.
I do not know your specific facts and have not met with you, so I cannot be your attorney on this right now. Check with your local bar association for an attorney.
