Re: termination

They would consider such a term to be within a review period.

Re: termination

With a limited number of exceptions, Ohio is an "employment at will" state. The exceptions include: violation of an employment contract or a labor agreement; or a discriminatory termination (one based upon race, national origin, age, religion, gender, disability or other protected characteristic). Other than that, you normally may terminate an employee in Ohio with or without good cause.

However, as I'm sure that you realize, it always makes good business sense to keep a salvageable employee - if possible, especially considering the costs of training, etc.

If you need additional assistance, please consult a local attorney with a good reputation in your community.

Good luck.
