Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio

I work for a private aircraft management company. I am a pilot and we (3) are being told we will be going on unpaid leave from oct 18-nov 30 2022. we are all have contracts to fly this aircraft and get a yearly salary pay. we are at will employees with the company but no where does it state they can cut are salaries to zero when the plane is in maintenance.

The contract controls. But if it states that you are at-will that means that you can be terminated at any time for any or no reason. Just the same as you are free to quit at any time for any or no reason.

If you believe that the employer has breached your agreement that is different. But if the employer does reserve the latitude to terminate at any time "at will" then by a stronger force of logic they reserve the right to suspend employment at any time. This may create what is sometimes called a constructive termination, meaning that by suspending your employment without pay it amounts to a termination practically speaking that may qualify you for unemployment benefits, etc.
