Legal Question in Employment Law in Ohio

Wrongful termination

I was fired from a company because my boyfriend called my off from work due to me being hospitilzed with a heart condition.

When I retured to work that Tuesday after New Years the Branch Mgr and Dist. Mgr wrote me up and said I volunteraily resigned becasue I did not call off my self.

I explained that I was admitted from the ER to the hosp.

I was diagnosised with a ''blown out aorta in my heart recently.

I feel that I was unjustly terminated just because I was not able to make the call.

Can I sue this agency for wrongful termination.

Re: Wrongful termination

How long did you work there? Were You A full Time Employee? Is there an Employee Handbook governing call in procedures? If you were a full time employee for over one year and worked a certain amount of hours and there are 50 employees or more. You should pursue a legal remedy.
